Unwanted in Isekai Chapter 82. Back in the Royal Capital Again 3

The sheer volume and roughness of the voice roared from behind and it scared the hell out of me.

When I looked to see what was going on, I saw some knights rushing.

Leading them is a gray-haired knight who probably was the one who just shouted, and next to him is the prime minister I just met earlier.

「 Just what are you doing here? 」

He speaks like someone scolding children.

In contrast, the Dutchess, who addressed, looked surprised, as if she’d seen a ghost.

「 Janskir-dono?! Why are you…shouldn’t you be in a meeting… 」

「 Yes, I was, but it wasn’t a big deal so I had them come later this afternoon instead. If I recall, he was from the Maskiel house, wasn’t he? Were you aware that they took time yesterday to suddenly say that they have something to present today? 」

The Dutchess’ mouth was drawn back at the question of the prime minister.

「 Janskir-dono, could you have predicted this? No, were you informed? 」

「 About what? Putting that aside, Madame, you can’t be expected to start a fight in the castle. Even so, Maskiel’s house was held responsible for the recent war. Besides, if you cause an outburst, not only you will be demoted, but your territory will be taken away from you as well 」

Somehow, the prime minister’s talking to the Dutchess.

I’m the one involved here, but I’m completely out of the loop.

The Dutchess who was full of motivation until now was taken aback as she was interrupted, and her voice became hoarse.

「 T-This is unrelated! You know this right?! This man bought the survivor of the hated Adilton! I demand you to hand him to me! 」

The Duchess points her folding fan on me.

Why is she in a panic?

She talked earlier like she could convince the prime minister to do anything, but now that he’s in front of her, this is what she’s doing?

I thought that the Ducal families were the highest level of nobility, but are they weaker than I thought?

Oh, the head and those around him were killed, so they’re losing power?

No, besides, is the wife even that great?

Thinking about it, I looked to see how the prime minister reacts and he has a disgusted look.

「 What did you say? Hand over? My guest? What an interesting thing to say, Madame. Taking him away? 」

He smiles most of the time, and yet the Prime minister shows a straight face.

I can’t read his emotions at all.

He’s already thinking about what he’s going to do with the Dutchess in front of him, I’m sure.

The knights around them are deadly, their eyes are fixed on the Dutchess and the group.

If this was the scene I see when I come to this world, I’d piss myself.

「 Hii! T-That’s wrong, Janskir-dono!! T-That wasn’t what I meant 」

「 I see. If it was wrong, then I’ll let it pass. Let’s forget this all. Either way, you caused a fight in the castle, so you should be punished accordingly. Madame’s returning to her home. Guide her 」

「 Eh?! Ah, wait! I’m not done yet! Janskir-dono! That man! 」

The Dutchess got taken away by the knights, grabbing both her arms.

I’m simply taken aback by the sudden turn of events, then the prime minister approached me.

He turned towards me and made eye contact with a straight face.

「 Kotori-dono, you seem uninjured 」

「 Yes, fortunately, 」

「 Indeed. I never thought you could take down a knight. I knew that you could fight, but I didn’t expect it to be that good. It’s truly unexpected 」

「 You were watching? 」

「 No, the knight was already down when I arrived. But if you look at the wounds of the knight of Maskiel house, it’s easy to see that either Gerber or Kotori-dono took him down 」

If you look at the wound, it’s easy to see that either Gerber with his sword or me with my spear could’ve beaten him.

「 You might not think so, but he’s a knight with a skill level 3, but to repel him successfully…I’m in awe 」

The attitude of the prime minister has changed from a good-humored one he showed during our transaction, to someone assessing a first-time meeting, as if things didn’t go to his expectations.

「 How about this… Hmmm… This is troubling. What do you think, Kotori-dono, Do you want to serve me? 」

Ooh, he’s soliciting now

「 It’s an honor to receive an invitation from you, Prime Minister. However, I’d like to refuse. As you already know, I have some girls I cherish who unfortunately made a bad impression on this country 」

「 The Adicilton’s daughter… If you accept my offer, I’ll provide you with both a title and land? I’ll also provide you with women as beautiful and spotless as she is Of course, that includes Mirai 」

Hey, I know that it’s a knight I took down, but just how much do you want me recruited?

「 That’s a charming offer but my answer is still the same. I don’t think I can deserve such a high level of treatment. Besides, are you sure about that? If you welcome me, that also means you’re doing the same to the Adiciltons, I don’t think they’ll find it acceptable 」

「 Many will fear and condemn, but I see no problem. The Adicilton house may have some grudge against our country, but they are reasonable. Without clear antagonism, their fangs will not turn. Rather, I appreciate their seemingly blind loyalty

「 Loyalty… 」

Hmm. The prime minister finds the Adicilton good.

As I declined the invitation and waited for what the prime minister would say next, he lets out a sigh

「 However, this is a problem. We don’t want people with that kind of power to cross over countries. If Kotori-dono won’t accept, then I have to persuade them a little more 」

The Prime minister said, and the knights who had been waiting surrounded me.

There must be more than ten of them, and dealing with them will be hard.

Oh, so this is what he was planning to do all along

Thinking about it, I feel like this was a setup from the first appearance of the Dutchess.

It would be difficult, even for the most prepared, to storm away from a large number of guards when I asked for a meeting with the prime minister yesterday without warning.

It makes me wonder why the Dutchess weren’t capable of that kind of move.

Besides, the timing of the prime minister is too good.

Furthermore, it’s weird to think that he’s bringing this many knights with him.

It’s possible that he planned to have the Dutchess attack and help me to have me owe him a favor.

Or maybe he was planning to hide in time because of the dangers?

But since I defeated the knight without difficulty, his plan went awry or something?

Sounds like someone profiting from problems he created, but that’s likely.

While I was thinking, I checked the knights surrounding me.

Maybe some of them are mixed with Gilbert-san’s class.

I won’t lose when going one-on-one, but this number isn’t good by any stretch of the imagination.

Suddenly, I look behind the knights and saw Gerber with a complicated look.

Seems like he didn’t know.

Now that fighting isn’t an option, running away isn’t easy.

I could use teleport to leave the castle and use my long-distance teleport to get back home.

If that happens, I won’t be able to enter the castle from the front again, but since I’ve already broken into the room where Mirai was, I can come and kidnap her once my teleport skill reaches level 3.

But you know, it annoys me to run from here.

If I’m leaving, how about I give them a sucker punch?

I glanced at the knights who were staring at me blankly and teleported behind the prime minister.
