Chaos ensued among the Awakened. The ones close to the tier six spider tried to run away, but the spider was faster than them.
Its legs were like sharp blades that cut the bodies of the Awakened into pieces. The spider needed less than one second to kill four Awakened.
“Fuck! Steven, take care of it!” Serena shouted flustered. Steven did not hesitate and drew his sword, rushing towards the spider valiantly.
But the spider was very cunning. Aware that Steven was not an easy opponent, it avoided him and jumped towards a small group of Awakened, killing them before they could react.
“Dammit!” Serena shouted and threw a shockwave towards the spider, but it evaded it easily and rushed towards another Awakened.
Fortunately, Steven managed to intercept it this time, but he was unable to keep the spider busy for long before it charged towards an Awakened behind him.
The spider knew that it could not kill Steven easily and instead, it could be killed by him. Thus, it aimed towards the easier preys.
The level of wisdom of this spider provoked fear in the hearts of the Awakened. Such fear overwhelmed them, making many of them run away in a panic.

But that only reduced their chances of surviving. With their backs towards the spider, it was harder to avoid its attacks.
“Calm down! Don’t run away! It’s just a spider!” Serena shouted, but many of the Awakened were too terrified as to pay attention to her.
“Dammit.” Serena cursed and tried to calm the situation, but the situation had gone out of control. Another tier six spider was not in their plans.
Steven was not strong enough to kill this spider quickly. Even though he was at the sixth tier just like the spider, it was a well-known fact that monsters were generally stronger than awakened of the same level unless the awakened owned a skill.
But Steven was not a skill user. It meant that he was at a disadvantage against the arachnid.

I thanked her in my mind and ducked down, avoiding the leg of another spider as my right arm holding my spear shot up, piercing its belly.
*Screech!* The spider screamed in pain, but I ignored it. Putting strength on my arms, I pierced the spear deep into its body before filling it with lightning.
The next second, the spider twitched in pain as the lightning burned its internal organs, quickly killing it.
‘Another one!’ I thought to myself while pulling my spear out. But before I could take a deep breath, my instincts screamed at me of danger.
Without hesitating, I jumped away, barely avoiding a spider leg that struck the place where I was standing.
“I’ll help you!” Andrew shouted and attacked the spider. He called upon two of his skills, [Domain] and [Limit Breakthrough], strengthening himself and weakening the spider as the metallic pipe in his hand struck the spider’s head.
But the spider reacted fast. It raised two of its legs and used them to stop Andrew’s attack.
Andrew’s attack was not so easy to stop, though. An instant later, a crack sounded as the spider’s two legs were broken. At the same time, a layer of ice covered the spider’s remaining legs, hindering its movements.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, a nearby Awakened jumped on the spider’s head and used a machete to stab its eye, piercing its brain and killing it.
I took a deep breath and circulated my mana around my body to relieve my tiredness. But soon, I was forced to continue fighting.

I nodded and took a deep breath. Then, I lowered my body close to the ground before sprinting forward.
But just at that moment, I felt a powerful fluctuation of mana behind me.
“Lone Sword!” Andrew shouted, and an explosion of mana was shot towards the spider.
The spider shivered. It seemed to feel that Andrew’s attack was dangerous, so it stopped attacking the other Awakened and used its front legs to receive Andrew’s attack.

The explosion of mana hit the spider.

The spider cried in pain. Its front legs were heavily damaged, and two of its eyes were blinded.
