Armageddon’s Lightning Bolt (1)

“H-How…” The robber muttered with a stunned gaze.

That was the last word he said.

One second later, several spiders jumped on him, tearing his body into several pieces, and finally killing him.

That was his end. Even until the end, he did not understand why I could use mana.

In fact, I could use my mana freely from the start.

This was because the method I’m using to blend among the spiders is slightly different than the method I used when I rescued Mary.

Back then, I convinced myself that I did not exist, and used Confidence to spread that idea to the spiders surrounding me, as such, the spiders unknowingly ignored my existence.

But after that, I thought a bit about the use of that technique and I noticed that I could have done more than just making the spiders ignore me.

If I played my cards right, I could make them treat me as one of them.

Thus, this time, I changed the idea that I spread to the spiders.

Instead of using Confidence to tell them that I didn’t exist, I told them that ‘I was one of them’.

Using Confidence this way was harder than using the first method, but if it succeeded, I could get a big advantage against the robber.

I could not only fight without fearing the attacks of the spiders, but I could also use the spiders to attack him.

It was worth the gamble.

And fortunately, I succeeded.

When I started fighting the robber in the nest, the spiders already considered me as one of them.

But that was just the start of my plan.

My final goal was to kill the robber, and to do that, the spiders alone would not be enough unless several Tier Four spiders or a Tier Five spider appeared.

The robber was a Tier Five Awakened. Even if he could not defeat the spiders, he could escape the nest if he wanted.

Most of the spiders were distracted fighting the other Awakened or defending the queen, so he could escape the danger as long as he left the nest.

I needed an opportunity to land a fatal blow.

Therefore, I feigned that I could not use my mana freely during the battle against the robber, but at the same, I tried to hide it.

And as expected, the robber eventually noticed it.

He was an experienced Awakened, but that played against him. Without needing me to explain anything, he came to the mistaken conclusion that I could not use mana during the battle.

At that moment, I knew that he had taken the bait.

After that, the rest is history.

He was convinced that I could not use my mana, so consequently, he underestimated my attack and focused on escaping.

That mistake cost him his life.

[A perfect execution, boy.] The demon chuckled in my mind.

I pierced my spear on the ground and used it to support my tired body as I sat on the ground and panted heavily.

Damn, it was hard.

I was close to dying a couple of times.

As expected, a Tier Five Awakened is not something the current me can face.

I used the lives of several spiders, every trick I could think of, and almost every drop of mana in my body. Moreover, the robber was not in top condition; he was not using a weapon as he was accustomed to, and that made his movements slightly awkward.

But even then, I barely managed to kill him.

If I fought him without any of these conditions, I would have definitively died.

I took several minutes to recover a bit of my mana before standing up again. Immediately, I felt my body groaning in pain.

Fuck, it hurts like hell.

I’m not sure, but I think I broke a couple of ribs.

Looking around, I noticed that most of the spiders had left. None of them bothered me thanks to the effects of Confidence.

I could still hear the sounds of battle coming from the distance. According to my senses, there were two battles ongoing now. One outside the nest, and another at the center of the nest.

“It looks like the Tier Seven Awakened of the Association has not managed to kill the spider queen yet, huh,” I muttered to myself with a frown. Could it be that the queen was stronger than expected?

Well, that is not my trouble. It’s not as though I can do anything to help him.

I should go back with the others, though. They must be worried about me.

“By the way, demon. Can you tell me now what is the new skill you are going to teach me for killing the robber?”

[An impatient one, are you?] The demon smiled in amusement. [Well, I don’t mind showing it to you. I will take over your body for a moment.]

Huh?

Before I could understand what was happening, I lost control of my body.

I immediately panicked.

Fuck, demon! What did you do!?

[Calm down, boy. I will just borrow your body for a second.] The demon chuckled using my voice. [Now, look.]

Grabbing my spear, the demon lifted it and aimed it towards the core of the dungeon.

[This is not exactly a new skill, but a trick to use Lightning Seed. I told you before that the current you can’t use lightning for long-range attacks, right?]

Yeah, you did.

[Well, this method should help you with it. Now, watch carefully.]

Instantly, lightning filled the spear.

The amount of lightning was so overwhelming that the spear turned red. The lightning crackled violently around the spear, as though it was going to shatter it.

Then, the demon thrust the spear forward.

In the next second, a lightning bolt was shoot from the spear tip, piercing through the nest as though it was paper.

Nothing could stop it. In an instant, it pierced the entire nest from end to end, followed by a thunderous sound that rumbled through the dungeon!

The lightning bolt disappeared almost as soon as it appeared.

But in that instant, it had killed over ten spiders.

Including the spider queen at the center of the nest.
