While talking with the elf quen Lilith, three mana reactions approach from the forest behind. Those things leaped from branch to branch at incredible speed, landed in triangle formation and surrounded us.
「These are elves too?」
A beautiful elf with blonde hair, green eyes, and long ears, and they’re staring at us with blank looks. It’s a mix of girls in their teens and twenties, all in different types. They must be cute when they smile.
Well, those beauties are pointing their weapons. The knife they use is a large wooden knife with visible grains, and they must be made from materials of plant monsters. I feel their mana as if they won’t allow themselves to be touched.
「Lilith? Your Majesty, are these enemies?」
「Umu. Those are the daughters of poison. We have no choice but to kill the living poison」
Poison. If it’s mana poison, then Ceres-mama might be able to neutralize it. I thought that, but the crazed elves attacked before I could speak.
「わｆｖｄぶんも＠ｖｂｍｒｖ！！！！！」
I stopped the girl who was about my age, using the rod made of divine iron, and she lets out a shriek and lunged at me. The moment the weapons touch, a purple, venomous mana overflowed from the knife blade and repelled by the divine iron’s effects.
「Their knife is poisoned! Careful! This can erode your mana!」
「Leave it to me~」
Mira-chan starts swinging a lightning rod playing against the little elf girl. Lina-chan provides support with fire and Nasha-chan does the same with her ice.
「Everyone, better refrain from touching that poison directly!」
Delivering her warning late, Lilith drew back her great bow and unleashed countless arrows pinning the adult elf. The adult elf struck down the arrow with poison knives but couldn’t defend themselves completely and sustained wounds all over.
Purple colored blood flows out of the wound. I have a bad feeling about this.
For now, I intend to immobilize the elf girl in front of me and head to help the girls, so I hit her torso with all my might. Some of the bones got broken and maybe her internal organs even got damaged, so she shouldn’t be able to move for a while.
However, the elf girl who was supposed to be injured, stood up unnaturally. Movements like a doll hung by strings, forced to stand by something unseen.
「ｍんじぶｖｇｙｆｃｔｘｒｔくｙびおｍｍｍ！！！」
No pain, no fear, no anger on her face, she lets out a meaningless sound.
Then mana oozes out from inside her body.
「Tsk! Careful! Servant, they’re coming!」
「What’s coming?」
Following the young elf, both the young and adult elf were enveloped in deep purple mana.
「Our attacks aren’t working!」
「Our mana’s losing!?」
Lina-chan and Nasha-chan attacks where there are gaps, but the purple mana seems to be acting as a shield, preventing damage. Lilith’s also resting her hand.
The mana increases it’s density and envelops the three elves like a cocoon.
「Queen Lilith. What’s this?」
「Isn’t it obvious?」
ーSpirit.
The cocoon cracked without sound or impact, and the elves have transformed.
Their golden hair became pure white as the color fades away.
Their eyes, which had the color of green leaves, turned to chilling purple.
Their transparent white skin turned blackish brown, darker than the skin of a tree.
Then, they grew pitch black bird wings and flew into the sky.
「Winged dark elves? What’s going on?」
Isn’t that a little too mixed up? Why do elves grow wings from their backs and fly in the sky?
「Danna-sama! PLease calm down! That’s probably the spirit magic used by the elves!」
The spirit magic I know is different from this.
According to the materials I read, the elves can manipulate mana of various attribute by using spirits. There are a lot of spirits, like the spirit of life, spirit of plants, and borrowing their power is what spirit magic is.
But this looks completely different.
「I don’t want to take too much mana, but it seems like I have no choice but to defeat them. ーSpirits!」
Changing from earlier, Queen Lilith seem to be showing her intentions towards the dark elves who bring down poison attribute mana from above. Her body’s enveloped in radiant mana, and at the same time the mana disappears, her appearance changed.
The beauty beyond human reach remains, and pure white wings sprout from its back, soaring into the sky.
「Pitiful girls! Let this elf queen Lilith and the holy spirit Gabriel deal with you! Be proud in the underworld!」
Queen Lilith, wielding the sword of light, lunges and the elves and dark elves clash above our heads.
…No, no matter how you look at this, it’s an “angel” and a “fallen angel,” isn’t it? What is an elf again???
